Jesus said:
“Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7).

“And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors” (Matthew 6:12).

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses” (Matthew 6:14-15).

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 7:12).

From the Old Testament:

“. . . for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed/insignificant (1 Samuel 2:30, various translations)

“With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;
With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;
With the pure You will show Yourself pure;
And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd” (Psalm 18:25-26).

Who is a God like You,
Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in mercy” (Micah 7:18).
